WHAT:

It’s a day long (7 hours) non-residential retreat to facilitate rejuvenation, rest, stress reduction, connection, and self growth.

WHERE:

Located on the beautiful central coast of California in large gorgeous private center 5 minutes from the ocean!

WHEN:

Typical timing is 9am-4pm, but this can be modified to meet your needs.

WHY:

Modern life is stressful and we all need time to step away from the noise of the world and attend to our inner need for balance, calm, and creativity. We need to make sure we “fill our cups” before we experience burnout and feel numb as we walk through our days. Vitality, Joy, and wholeness is yours for the living and these kinds of experiences allow us to drop into our inate need for balance.

The Healing Effects of Silence

Silence is therapeutic on all levels and at the same time it is a doorway to inner peace.  Silence is the medicine that balances a stressful life. It becomes the inner resource of gentleness, love & grace that creates a bridge from the heart into the world.

We begin and end the day with Silent meditation. There are thousands of books written that express the rewards of meditation and there are hundreds of various types as well. We stay focused on a simple breath observation meditation…simply observe the breath as it arises and falls away. When the mind wanders…return gently to the breath. That’s it. Nothing fancy, just profoundly restorative.

The Tea Ceremony

 

The Simple Power of The Tea Leaf

After morning Meditation and a small break we Gather to share the simple power of a meditative community tea ceremony. It’s really not about the taste, aroma, or colour of the tea. The power lies in the process, the ceremony, that brings you into the present moment with a direct experience of nature in a cup/bowl of tea leaves.

In Chinese culture there is a great tradition concerning tea. This tradition may be introduced with the two words: Cha Tao, the way of tea. The philosophy about Cha Tao aims to encourage people to return to nature. In other words, it is a pursuit of all that is pure and simple.

Our Mindful Movement

 

Slowing Down

Unlike exercise where the main objective is to get in better physical shape, the main objective of mindful movement is to notice the sensations of the body in motion. Active mindfulness practice brings the mind and body in union which regulates the nervous system.

Being with the body as it is and practicing being in a kind relationship with it is the core of Mindful Movement. Gentle, grounding, expansive, and purposeful moves designed to bring you into the One Moment.

The Sound Bath Journey

This IS VIBRATIONAL MEDICINE AT IT’S FINEST!!

 

Using the power of planetary gongs (and others), Quartz Crystal singing bowls, Tibetan singing bowls, Ghantas, rain sticks, drums, Sonic Sabers, Tingshas, chimes and other instruments we will journey deep inside ourselves and converge within to create an Oceanic sound wave you can ride all the way to DEEP REST.

The overarching theme to all these “Sound Meditations” is DEEP REST, RENEWAL and  RESTORATION of our overly stimulated nervous systems.

Very deep calm, an explosion of creative ideas, lucid dreaming states, integration of life challenges, and the rejuvenation of your “zest for life” are some of the benefits you might see.

Our nature Time

Mother nature excels at stress reduction!

Take in the beauty of our Central Coast area. It is breathtaking, quaint, and welcoming.

In fact…you should come early and leave a day or two after the retreat if you can!

Wildlife estuaries, miles of hiking trails  both inland and along the ocean, biking, surfing, locally owned shops and restaurants, art studios, and little towns dotted along the coastline.

We are 90 minutes south of the Wild & Gorgeous Big Sur area and approx. 4 hours from SF and LA respectively.

 

 ALLOW this to be an UNPLUGGED RETREAT for yourself! 

We encourage you to place your cellphones into the “time out” spaces we will have available for you to place personal items that you can collect at the end of the day. We ask that you do not check your phones more than a couple times a day and only then to make sure no emergency texts/calls have come in.

Tech Distractions and interuptions will take away from your requested full presence and loving attention to self  and others.

MY MISSION

…is to invite an upgrade in our approach to self care. Life requires our conscious participation to call in the lives we want to lead. I have chosen to focus on the restorative arts to uplift our soul, foster community, and heal our hearts.

The entire universe is continually being created out of harmonic principles. Sound is healing, health is everything, Art, Physics, Mathematics, and a radiant Life are all around you…you just have to look and Listen!

Suggested list

We provide blankets, cushy mats, bolsters, eye pillows, yoga mats, and water. Ample parking is available in a large lot on site and there is a Bathroom on location as well.

Bring whatever you feel you need to be comfortable! A journal, water bottle, extra sweater or layer/slipper socks.

Bring a lunch or go out for lunch to the places that are within walking distance or a 3 min drive! Eat luch down by the Bay with an amazing view and sea wildlife.
